This was the first occasion I had the pleasure of meeting this family and from the instant I saw baby Derek, I fell in love with him. He was just so adorable. You can’t resist his bright blue eyes, chubby cheeks, and mouth full of baby teeth. But more than that – his sheer excitement about everything. Everyone in his vicinity will know his excitement as he squeals with joy, while waving his hands around. Most hilarious thing ever. Secondly I fell in love with him because when I picked him up he instantly reached to take off my glasses just like my baby nephew. It was an instant bond. Ha. We became BFF’s. His parents, Ashley and Matt, were adorable and gorgeous as well. They’re quite the attractive blue-eyed family. Plus what girl wouldn’t want Ashley’s gorgeous, long, flowy hair! Hope you enjoy a sneak peek at this precious family!

Such a cute family.

And THIS is when lil' Derrek gets all excited! Hahaha! He might look like he's crying but I promise you - he's not. This is when he just gets so excited he wants everyone around him to know it.

Tickle time!!!!

I love capturing lil' boys discovering things.

Baby sandwich!

This family hadn’t had pictures done together in quite some time; I think around 10 years in fact. And it just so happens that Jarod and his wife, Kamee are being relocated for his job to Papua New Guinea. So what better time than to have a quick get-together to snap some pictures?! This fam was easy-going and fun to take pictures with. Hope you enjoy them!

Who says a Grandma can't be sassy?!

She just has some stunning eyes!

This girl sure loves her uncle!

What a fantastic shoot we had! We have some wonderful photos as memories and we so enjoyed you as a photographer! I couldn’t be more happy about our experience! A huge “Thank you!” from my family for all you did for us! “The Mom in the photos”

December 23, 2011

My lovely friend Kristin took us out to her family’s farm in Cresent where I had just done her family’s pictures the week prior. She’s not a photographer, but she certainly loves pictures as much as I do and this definitely provided her a taste of what I do. Ha. I felt a bit bad for her because our dogs are so spastic! She had to make weird noises constantly to get their attention towards the camera. It was hysterical but I’m sure exhausting for her. But we had a great time through the whole event…because it was an event. Loading up the dogs, getting all our props ready, driving 45 minutes out of town, and trying to get everyone settled for a few pics.

And this is how it all began...Gracie was so spastic I could barely hold her. And Roxy thought she needed to take a nap or something and lay on me and hog the blanket. Look at her face! She even looks ornery with that goofy grin and her tongue sticking out. Jeez.

Through experiencing this shoot, I’ve discovered that dogs are like babies. They don’t always like to smile on command, or look in the right direction on command, they don’t even like to sit where you put them. I think they actually start to sense when you’re forcing these things on them too. Even if your child does smile a lot, you have to consider in just a window of an hour how often could you really get your child to smile on command not in front of a camera? Honestly. Same goes for our dogs. Normally they’re pretty well behaved and listen to our commands…but if they’re out of their environment and there’s new things going on around them…all attention is lost. But for me, some of my favorite pictures of kids and my dogs are the ones where they’re not looking straight at the camera. That’s part of their charm; their curiousity about life. So if you feel like your child isn’t being the best photo model then don’t feel bad or embarrassed; that’s just how it goes sometimes. All part of the fun. You never know what kids will do. Okay, the END. OFF SOAP BOX.

This was our front Christmas card picture.

And this was our back Christmas card picture. Jeffrey was a big fan of this one.

Another one of Jeff's favorites. Hahaha.

This is one of my favorites. I adore my husbands cute lil' dimples.

Just for fun!

Had to show off my bright red shoes! I love them! I got them just for these pictures! Hahaha. I'm terrible in heels (even if they're wedges) but I'm determined to still wear these. Love spunky shoes.

This is my second favorite. The dog's head-turn was perfect timing for this shot!

We sure do love our dogs. And we definitely have a "his" and a "hers." Mostly because Roxy just claims Jeffrey ALL to herself. I'm lucky if I ever get to sit by him when we're at home!

As cheesy as this shot is...we actually do go on walks like this. His and hers. Roxy's always on our left and Gracie's always on our right. And we do hold hands, but minus the longing/lovingly looking into each other's eyes thing. Ha.

Hope you enjoyed the small “window” into my life. We rarely have our picture taken, so I thought I’d share these…even though I always prefer to be BEHIND the camera instead of in front of it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This was a short session I did with my sister and her husband and my adorable nephew around Thanks-Giving. I just adore my nephew, Colin. I mean seriously, he makes every photo cute. It doesn’t matter if he’s just staring into space; it’s just adorable! PS – I love you too Heather and Jachin…but man, it’s getting to be a tight race.

Seriously, can ANYone resist that smile?

Stinkin' precious baby doll.

He's getting SO big way too fast.

The Blue-Eyed Family.

Ahh. This just warms my heart thinking of his lil' giggle. Cutest. Thing. Ever. You can't help but laugh yourself.

Love. This. Baby.

This poor family had to endure some freezing cold temperatures on their photo shoot. I don’t remember exactly how cold it was, but it was definitely under 40 degrees. So needless to say, it was one of the fastest photo sessions I’ve ever done! I even stopped feeling my thighs at one point during the shoot, and I had on gloves, hat, and a scarf! Although the session was super quick we still got some good shots of the family. It’s easy to do when you have a good lookin’ group!

Mama and her boys!

My tribute to Modern Family

Hahaha. Boys will be boys!

The fellas.

I just love this one. Love her hat too. Hats, scarves, and coats - they're so fun in pictures!

November 22, 2011

For this fun-filled shoot I got to go to the Box family farm up in Crescent, Oklahoma! It brought back memories for me of when I did my first family photo shoot of this family back in 2006 when I was using film! Ha! The farm was beautiful this time of year; the colors were absolutely gorgeous! But the best part was the family. I adore this family. My bestie, Kristin, and I met in college and roomed together for 2 years, traveled to Europe together, and were in each other’s weddings. Her family has become like part of my own. Each one of her family members hold a special place in my heart for sure. Especially now her lil’ nephews, Carter and Logan; I really enjoyed being around those two rascals. I instantly considered them one of my best friends as they let me ride on their mini John Deer battery operated tractor (just like their Papa’s). I was clearly too big for it and I was even leery I might break it, but they let me ride it any way! Hahaha! I love getting to pretend I’m still a kid sometimes. It was a pleasure taking pictures for this beautiful family; it was so hard to choose which pictures to post. Hope you enjoy!

Who wouldn't love reading a Christmas book with their grandparents?!

Just so stinkin' cute!!!!

The heart and soul of this lovely bunch.

LOVE his facial expression I snagged a picture of!

Beautiful ladies.

Oh. My. Goodness. I absolutely LOVED these two boys! They are so stinkin’ cute and hilarious! Julie posts all these funny pictures, videos, and stories on Facebook about her two little ones, Paul and Timothy. I’m so glad I got to meet these two guys in person because I instantly adored them! The love the have for each other and their parents just puts a big smile on my face. Their energy and love for each other was infectious – I couldn’t help but love them instantly and want to take them home…and for those that know me well says a LOT! Ha! I would totally baby-sit these two for sure! They were cracking me up the whole time with their facial expressions, dance moves, mannerisms, and silly sayings. My favorite saying they seemed stuck on was “awwww man!” and they’d snap their fingers every time (like to say, “awww, darn” or “shucks”). Ha! So stinkin’ cute! I even got several hugs from these two affectionate boys which is surprising since I was a total stranger to them. Julie and Matt are truly blessed with some great kids, you can definitely tell that a lot of prayer went into their adoption…because they are truly some great boys. I hope you enjoy, adore, and just simply fall in love with these two boys as you look at their photos!

Timothy is so serious in the pic on the left. I love it. Paul is such a good brother. Timothy later pushed his brother around too.

I loved this one because this is when I caught Paul saying "awww man!"

Always holding hands.

Stinkin' adorable!

This makes me crack up every time I see it. I love that lil' Timothy. Peeker.

Julie asked me to make the three of them some hats. I was so excited about them - I had to post a pic!

I encouraged Tracy to bring some of Hunters favorite toys because I love incorporating them into photos as well as they’re great entertainment when kids start to get antsy. One of the toys she brought was his tricycle. I immediately loved the idea when she suggested it! We decided to start out taking photos with it so we wouldn’t have to lug it around the whole shoot, but it ended up that we didn’t have to lug it around because Hunter wanted to ride it the whole time! HA! He was a good sport when we asked and got off his bike for a couple of shots and then he’d state “I’m done.” Kids are so matter-of-fact, it cracks me up! We were able to distract him with some other “toys” like pumpkins, and his OU hat and basketball… But one thing is for sure: boys sure do love their toys!

I love Hunter's expression in this one!

So true to reality. A boy could care less about pictures...he just wants to play with dirt. Ha!

If this doesn't just put a HUGE smile on your face...I don't know what will! Hilarious! (We put his hat on backwards...so of course he was trying to see what it looked like!)

The famous tricycle. PS - the pic on the left is him making like a "vroom, vroom" noise...this is very serious bike-riding business.

I am in LOVE with these. Every kid...and adult for that matter...should have a cape with the letter of their name on the back! This is awesome!

Ha. Being a super hero is tough stuff. (Notice how his cape is twisted...that happened constantly. I thought it was adorable.)

I decided to play a rolling game with him...so the pic on the right is him waiting for me to pass the ball! (Apparently I was slow - but hey, I was trying to hold the camera at the same time!) I love that he's looking at me like I'm a crazy person.

I love these. I don't remember what happened...but he's laughing hysterically!

He is a very serious little boy sometimes.

October 17, 2011

So I thought “The Smolder” was an appropriate title for this post for two reasons. A. Smolder = hot, smokin’, sexy. And well, to state the obvious, this family is gorgeous! I mean, really – no one can deny that. And I just know the future baby Fielder is going to fit right in. And B. Everyone should know “The Smolder” look from Tangled (if you don’t – shame on you – go watch the movie). And I tell you what, lil’ LK has it down PAT! I thought it was the cutest thing seeing her do it with her daddy. Just adorable, as is she. This family was quite easy to photograph, because well, they’re naturals! We got some downright gorgeous shots that I hope they will treasure for many years to come. I hope you enjoy browsing through them as much as I have.

LK's cousins got to join us for a few pictures...some were just TOO cute not to include, like this one. I love Faith's expression. It brings a huge smile to my face.

Kids are just so darn cute.

Are their matching outfits not just the most adorable thing ever? I really liked Faith's boots! Too cute!

Even Grandma and Grandpa got to join in for some shots!

October 11, 2011

This is one good-lookin’ family as well as an entertaining one. But for the sake of my physical well-being I decided not to post the more “colorful” pictures, as this is my sister and brother-in-law and neices…So they know where I live and how to hunt me down. :) I enjoyed this shoot immensely merely for the entertainment factor. I love taking pictures of people I know personally, because people tend to open up more and be themselves. And my family doesn’t hold anything back. When I say “work it, give me model face, pose, give me sexy”…they give me all of the above and more! Hahaha! And a nice bonus is they’re all pretty good lookin’. Wouldn’t you agree? They’re a hilarious bunch and I’m glad to call them family.
