So they say that Chicago is the windy city. But seriously?! I beg to differ! The day we did this session, the wind was absolutely insane and with the temperature being a tad bit chilly it was quite cold for this shoot! Jessi and Geoff were troopers though. As I’m bundled up in my beanie hat, scarf, and gloves – Jessi’s workin’ it in her thin wedding dress baring skin and all! We had to have a few warming up sessions, but we trucked on through! It was quite comical as we thought back to when I did their engagement pictures this summer in the 100 degree heat and now we’re enjoying the total opposite extreme! I’m sure they were wishing they were back in Jamaica, where they got married with a small private wedding ceremony. I was so glad they asked me to do this session because I enjoy hanging out with them so much! They have such energy, love, and excitement…it just naturally flows out of them and affects all of those around them, including me! I loved it!

Awfully nice of them to leave this car out so we can take pics with it, huh?

So you know how there’s like a Malibu Barbie, Evening Gown Barbie, etc…well, Ashley is my Bride Barbie. That beautiful blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Gorgeous! She’s so easy to photograph! I loved getting to see these two again…and so close to their anniversary! Their one year anniversary is just next month! We had to post-pone her bridals a couple of times…but who doesn’t love getting another reason to wear their wedding dress, right?! And she rocked it! I loved being able to see this couple a year after they’ve been married – now it’s like they’re just in the ol’ married couple phase! Ha! I need to do anniversary shoots more often. Ashley and Ryan are adorable! I instantly loved them when I did their engagement pictures they were my favorites: fun, flirty, and silly…plus they laughed at my jokes…that’s always a bonus! If they didn’t live in Ardmore, I would totally hang out with these two a lot more because I just think they’re awesome! I didn’t put a single caption on the photos because I feel like my words would do the photos an injustice. I just want you to soak them in and enjoy!

So for those of you that have worked with me before have probably heard me mention how much I LOVE post-wedding bridals. You know why? Because you can get CRAZY! It doesn’t matter where you go or what you do in your dress because the big day is already over so there’s no need to be paranoid about getting your dress a little dirty. Most people get it dry-cleaned, boxed, and preserved any way! Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not like we plan to completely destroy the dress…unless of course that is a personal goal of yours. Another added bonus is your hubby can come along! This is especially great if you’re choosing not to see each other prior to the ceremony and we have limited time to capture the two of you on the wedding day. OR if your wedding is late in the evening and it’s dark outside when your ceremony has concluded…because we all know natural lighting is the most appeasing! OR you got married in the winter and it was too cold to go outside; I would be happy to provide you another reason to wear your dress again in the spring! Ha! Post bridals can even be completed later in the day after your ceremony/reception at another location of your choosing, or the morning after your wedding before you leave on your honeymoon. There’s clearly multiple options to choose from and I’m happy to oblige, because sometimes it’s just totally worth it!

Now Vickie and Nate actually got married in May. They had a beautiful outdoor, country wedding on the highest hill in Vinita, Oklahoma. It was lovely. So to keep with that theme, I definitely wanted to do pictures in a country-type setting. One of her main flowers at the wedding was the sunflower; so what better place to go than somewhere with sunflowers?! And it so happened I was able to find such a place! We also got some urban-flared shots as well! I loved both locations! Its a pleasure working with Vickie and Nate. They’re so easy-going, flirty, and playful…just my style! Nate so easily fills any quiet void with his hilarious jokes that is sure to make me laugh for a solid couple of minutes. Needless to say, this shoot was totally worth the itchiness, bug bites, and allergy intensification I received in return.

For my blog postings I try to keep it to around 10 pictures per posting…but man, I just had to splurge on this one because I loved so many of them! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
